A full choke at .710 as with my duck gun where both barrels are choked full at .710 does not allow firing of slugs. 3/4 Choke at .735 also restricts some slugs. Webb11 aug. 2016 · Slugs can be shot through any choke. Thats why they call them punkin balls. They rattle their way all the way down the barrel and come out at the end. Full chokes are fine. Just think about it this way. If they would "splode" a full choke barrel they would not be in business much longer as the law suits would cover them up. Aug 10, 2016 #8

Webb16 jan. 2013 · I wouldn't feed rifled slugs through an extra full choke or even a full choke, but that's just me. It can shorten the barrel life. I bought a cylinder sized choke for my Mossberg 500 for when I load slugs. I use the extra full choke for turkey loads and the modified for buck shot and coyote loads.
