I have had good success from it in the past, plus I read somewhere that if the FM signal isn't currently that good, chances are the DAB won't be better either. I believe DAB transmissions are vertically polarised to match the vertical orientation of the car antenna. A horizontal antenna will not receive a vertically polarised signal very well.
